Huntsbury Hill
The architectural intent is to choreograph the building as a series of offset volumes that negotiate the steep terrain with clarity and restraint, minimising site disturbance while enhancing spatial quality. A grounded, masonry-based lower level is embedded into the slope to provide structural stability, while the upper level is expressed as a lighter, cantilevered form that captures views and daylight. Material contrast, refined junctions, and carefully proportioned glazing articulate the relationship between solid and void, allowing the architecture to engage the landscape as an integral part of the design rather than a constraint.
